I met Shan when I was on Instagram and I saw she was using my butterfly as her profile logo. Curious as to why I reached out to her and started to learn more about her and her story. My name is Shaninlea Visser, Shan for short, and I live on the South Coast of Durban South Africa. I would love to share my story with you, it's my fight for survival since 2017 and my will to live. You can read up on me on my Facebook page "Shan Living Her Life" or my IG page @shan.livinglife, or if you google my name my story will come up, through all of this I remain positive, determined and motivated to get my life back on track. I became a quadruple amputee due to septicemia in January 2017.

Run • Tri • Bike serves the beginner endurance athlete by providing insight into the sports of running, cycling, swimming, and triathlon. We provide opportunities for athletes to learn about these sports by providing editorial that covers the nuances but we also look to inspire and motivate.
To make the world of endurance sports less intimidating we will bring you stories about athletes from all walks of life. They will be female. They will be BIPOC. They will be physically challenged. They will be LGBTQ+. They will all be athletes. These inspiring stories about how each one got started will show you that there is a spot at the starting line for everybody.

I have a new goal to run a marathon by the end of march on my zero runner -I didn't even come close to reaching this goal, I made it a goal but didn't plan on how to get there so I failed . I will do this, but If I want to be successful I need to plan how. Stay tuned!!!
